People don't pay us for the amount of work we do, they pay us for the amount of value they place on our product or service, which in this case is some form of art. This applies whether we are employed for an hourly paycheck, or if we are are self employed, being paid for each separate project.
Do you like to express yourself creatively? If so, then you have the heart for the art. Any degree of success begins with the internal desire to express yourself and develop your unique skills
Not all art is found in art galleries. Art can be a powerful communication tool. It can bypass the intellect and go straight to the emotional level of experience. This applies to the performing arts as well as the visual arts. Artistic expression can take many forms. It can be decorative, instructional, entertaining and promotional, political, humorous, and so forth.
In order to create a masterpiece, the creator has to be a master. In this chapter, we focus on the artist more than the artwork.
The keys are simple: The key to happiness lies in finding a way to get paid for doing something you love to do, and the key to success is that you can get paid to do anything if it benefits someone else.
No one is born with talent. However, we are born with a curiosity which causes us to climb out of our cribs and crawl around corners and climb on things. If our curiosity is channeled into a skill, such as catching a moving ball or drawing inside of the lines, we may develop those skills into talents by perfecting them above what is considered normal.
When we are starting out, it takes courage to display our work in public, but by having the courage to do so, we develop the confidence to try new things. With that confidence, we extend our courage and the cycle continues to expand as our lives continue to grow.
Our thoughts work like a compass that guides us in the directon we choose to go in. Our beliefs provide the map we follow to get where we want to go.
The power of our imagination, blended with the power of what we believe, provides us with the physical and emotional experience we think of as our life.
Who else could you be? Who else would you want to be? Be that person in your imagination, and you'll soon be that person in the physical world too.
